What positive or negative contributions does the discovery of the neutron have on society ?
Q. How would this show evidence of global considerations ? How did the discovery of the neutron affected us ?
Asked by Tamara - Sat Oct 20 21:51:44 2007 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. As the Neutron is neither positive or negative, it has no direct impact on society except that neutrons are present in all matter (material things), (except normal hydrogen). However since its 'discovery' and the fact that it can be used in splitting atoms, the impact on the Global scale has been catastrophic (A-bombs) in some instances and a 'blessing ?', in others (Nuclear power).

What was the importance of the age of discovery and exploration?
Q. I need three reasons why the age of discovery was the most important movement of the Renaissance era. What impacts did it have on the world?
Asked by blueyedbeauty915 - Wed Nov 1 17:24:48 2006 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments

A. "Discovery" is the key word. The voyages of the age of discovery increased knowledge, brought new products, introduced cultures, opened new markets, etc. New challenges brought changes in maritime technology - improved navigation, shipping, and associated crafts. The expense - and potential rewards- of these complex ventures helped to spur the growth of corporate entities (there is a name for them - joint stock companies, I think, but check that for accuracy) that helped spread risk. Insurance, too. The huge increase in money brought about by the discovery of gold and silver in Mexico and Peru lead to major economic growth in Europe, which in turn allowed more exploration.
